Specifics of online editing and generating Word documents
The online editor is designed primarily for editing regular text content of documents.
Although it supports most of the standard DOCX features, it cannot do so in all cases.
fully preserve the layout and behavior of documents created in Microsoft Word.
For this reason, we recommend editing mainly regular text, headings, lists, and simple tables in the online editor.
On the other hand, for more complex elements, the layout, formatting, or functionality may change after saving the document. These include:
- page layout into columns,
- text fields,
- floating objects and images with text wrapping,
- WordArt and other Word graphics,
- advanced cross-references and fields,
- more complex tables using cell merging or non-standard formatting,
- overlapping tables/graphic elements used in headers/footers.
Special attention needs to be paid to the signature sections of documents.
Editing signature areas may affect subsequent document generation or electronic signing.
This solution uses a borderless, two-column, center-aligned table, ensuring compatibility between Microsoft Word, the online editor, and subsequent document generation.
If you need to create more complex formatted documents, we recommend that you perform their final editing directly in Microsoft Word.
Is the token not being replaced by the value?
First, check that you have used the correct token and that the employee has the appropriate value filled in. If everything is fine, try adding a space before the problematic token.
